Terms of Use
Effective 7 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the Sunaiye app. By using it you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The service
Sunaiye lets you record a person's stories, turns them into written chapters using automated tools, and shares them with your family. It is provided for personal, non-commercial family use.
Your account
You sign in with Apple and are responsible for activity on your account. Only record and share stories with the knowledge and consent of the people speaking. Never record someone who does not know they are being recorded.
Your content
You keep ownership of your recordings and stories. You give us permission to store, process and display them as needed to run the service for you and your family, including sending them to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. You must have the right to share what you upload.
AI-generated content
Transcripts and chapters are generated by automated tools. They may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or incorrectly interpreted details. Please review important content before relying on it or sharing it.
Acceptable use
Do not use Sunaiye to break the law, harass others, upload content you have no right to share, try to access other families' archives, or interfere with the service.
Family members
People you invite can listen, react and ask questions. Joining as a family member is free. Some features, including creating unlimited stories, need a paid plan.
Subscriptions and payment
- Paid plans are billed through your Apple ID. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and your plan renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in your iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- The Founding Family plan is a one-time purchase. It gives you the benefits of a paid plan for as long as Sunaiye operates the service — “lifetime” means the lifetime of the service. See “If Sunaiye closes” below.
- Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple according to Apple's applicable refund policies. Sunaiye does not directly process App Store refunds.
- Stories you have already made stay yours if a subscription ends.
Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply to your use of the app.
Ending your use
You can delete your account in the app any time: Family → Delete account, or, for a storyteller, the settings button on their home screen. Deleting it as the account holder deletes the family archive. Deleting a storyteller's or family member's account removes their account and what they added, while the stories already told stay with the family — as explained in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
If Sunaiye closes
If we ever decide to shut down Sunaiye, we will:
- tell you at least 90 days before the service ends, in the app and by email where we have one;
- stop selling new plans, including the Founding Family plan, from the day we announce it;
- give every family a way to download its recordings and chapters before the service ends.
No warranty and limits
Sunaiye is provided "as is". We work hard to keep your recordings safe, but we cannot promise the service will always be available or free of errors, so please keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and tell you where appropriate. Continuing to use the app means you accept the new terms.
